I own a beautiful Pug called Mathilde and she has been with me for over 10 years now and we have a wonderful companionship. I must say, I’ve owned a few other breeds in the past but found that the Pug has a certain personality like no other dog. However, I will admit that compared to other breeds the pug seems more prone to fleas. Or maybe it’s the area I take my dog for a walk in as she’s always running up and saying hello to other dogs. The problem I have found over the years is finding a decent dog flea treatment that is not too strong for my little pooch.
At the moment I am using a product called Frontline Flea Treatment. And to be honest, the results are actually pretty damn good compared to a lot of other products that I have tried previously. I think I can speak for a lot of Pug owners when I say that we are constantly trying to find something we can use on our small and fragile dogs, as sometimes they can be a little sensitive to strong medication.
It really does get annoying having to comb out fleas and watch little Mathilde constantly scratch herself around the house. I would like to know if any other owners have used Frontline for dogs like I have and have had success with it. I found it being quite easy to administer and thankfully they offer solutions specifically designed for small dogs. I did do a little test bit on Mathilde first, just in case she had an allergic reaction to it, because this has happened before. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no irritation and although this brand is not as strong as some other brands, it did manage to contain the problem pretty quickly and eventually rid her of her fleas entirely.
Frontline for dogs was actually recommended to me by my vet, and to be honest with you; when I bought it I thought it was rather expensive. But I have found a way to make considerable savings, as I now purchase the flea products online, and especially if you buy in bulk you can save a lot of money – just a little tip for all you Pug owners out there!
